Cookie Basics
Cookies get a bad reputation, mostly because so many websites use them to follow people around the internet. This site does not. Here is what is actually going on when you visit Gargetter Lifestyle, in roughly the time it takes a kettle to boil.

First, a quick explainer
A cookie is a tiny text file that a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage is a close cousin: a little drawer inside your browser where a site can leave a note for itself. Both can be used for harmless things, like remembering a setting, or for less charming things, like tracking you across the web for advertising.
What we store
Exactly one thing. When the small notice card appears and you press one of its buttons, your answer is written to your browser's local storage. That is it. The note just says which button you chose, so the card stays out of your way on the next page and the next visit.
| Stored item | Location | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your banner choice | Local storage in your browser | So the notice does not reappear on every page | Until you clear your browser's site data |
This note never travels to us. We cannot read it, count it or link it to you.
What we do not use
- No analytics or statistics cookies.
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social media cookies from share or like buttons.
- No third-party scripts that set cookies of their own.
Because of that, pressing either button on the card changes nothing about what you see or what is collected. The site works exactly the same whichever you pick. We ask anyway, because being upfront feels like good manners.
Changing your mind
If you would like the card to appear again, clear the stored data for this site in your browser settings. Most browsers let you do it for a single site under the privacy or site settings menu, without touching anything else. Next time you visit, the card will ask you again, fresh as a clean microwave.
A note on server logs
Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs to deliver pages and keep the service safe. Those logs are not cookies and do not involve anything stored on your device. The Privacy Policy explains them properly, along with your rights over any information we hold.
