About Gargetter Lifestyle
Gargetter Lifestyle is where we write down the stuff we keep explaining to friends over coffee. How to rescue a microwave that looks like a volcano went off in it. Which setting on the TV makes a film night feel like the cinema. What actually goes in a carry-on when you swore you would travel light this time. It is a magazine about ordinary days, and about making them run a little smoother and feel a little nicer.
We are a small crew writing under pen names. None of us has a fancy title, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we do have is a lot of practice at the everyday stuff: cleaning, fixing, tinkering with gadgets, cooking for people who turn up hungry, booking trips and falling asleep halfway through films we were very excited about.
What we write about
- Household – cleaning tricks, little repairs, rooms that work better and the home tech that makes it all easier.
- Film and movies – how people watch at home now, what is changing on the screen and how to set up a proper movie night.
- Tips and tricks – quick wins that save time, money or patience, tested at home where it is safe to do so.
- Lifestyle – celebrations, flowers, food, hobbies and the small treats that make a week better.
- Travel – packing, planning and places worth the journey.
- Shopping – how to choose well, without telling you what to buy.
If you want a taste of the house style, start with how to clean a microwave in ten minutes. It is short, practical and slightly smug about how little scrubbing is involved, which is pretty much us in a nutshell. Prefer the sofa to the sink? Try how IPTV creates a personalized TV experience instead.
How we keep it honest
A product or shop named in one of our articles is a pointer, not a promise. We do not run adverts, pop-ups or tracking scripts, and we do not invent numbers to make a point sound more impressive. If we have not tried something ourselves, we say so. When a topic brushes against health, money or safety, we keep things general and suggest you check with someone who can look at your actual situation.
We also go back to old articles. Homes change, gadgets change and sometimes we simply find a better way of doing a job. When that happens, we update the piece rather than leaving the old advice lying around. The full story of how an idea becomes a page lives on Our Recommendation Process.
Finding your way around
Every subject we cover has its own channel, and the Everything We Cover page gathers them in one place with a few good starting points. Curious about who is actually typing all this? Pop over to Behind the Kitchen Door for the short version of each of us.
Come and say hello
Spotted a mistake, got a question we have not answered or a household mystery you want solved? We would genuinely love to hear it. The Say Hello page explains the best way to reach us. A real person reads every message, even if the reply sometimes takes a few days because one of us is elbow-deep in a cupboard.
What we believe
The Gargetter way, in a few lines
Little principles we keep coming back to when we write.
A clean kitchen should take minutes, not your whole weekend.
Film night deserves the same care as a dinner party.
The best travel trick is packing less than you think you need.
Read the label first, then read our guide.
Good advice explains why, not just how.
